Every year during the pre-Christmas season, Duisburg city centre is transformed into an atmospheric, sparkling sea of lights with well over one hundred lovingly decorated wooden stalls, festively decorated Christmas trees and all kinds of light installations. For many, the magical atmosphere at the Christmas market marks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year.

By car
Duisburg can be reached in an east-west direction via the A42, A40 and A44 motorways. In a north-south direction, the A57, A59 and A3 motorways lead into the city. In the east, the Spaghetti Junction at Kaiserberg distributes traffic in all directions and is one of the main transport hubs in the Ruhr region.

Düsseldorf Christmas Market
Christmas markets are a popular tradition that attracts millions of visitors every year. But did you know that the Christmas market in Düsseldorf is one of the largest in all of Germany? With over 200 stalls and attractions, the Düsseldorf Christmas Market is an absolute highlight of the pre-Christmas season.
In 2025, Düsseldorf shines in festive splendour with its Christmas market. There are various themed markets in the city centre, including the Old Town Market, the Arts and Crafts Market and the Fairytale Market. Historic carousels, arts and crafts stalls and food stands are also set up along the Rhine riverbank between Burgplatz and the Holzbrücke at the old Rhine harbour. The Christmas market offers a special shopping experience and a wonderful atmosphere.

Centro Christmas Market in Oberhausen
Even the Christ Child shops here: three Christmas worlds surround Europe’s largest shopping centre.
The Christmas market at Centro Oberhausen invites visitors to stroll, browse and dream. At the “Wichtelmarkt”, fairy tales from childhood come to life. At the “Bergweihnachtsmarkt” and in “Santa’s Village”, visitors can discover plenty of things to try, admire and give as gifts – from cosy and rustic to colourful American-style Christmas charm. The new evening Christmas light show on the Centro Promenade also creates a festive atmosphere.
150 wooden huts invite visitors to look, marvel, smell, taste and enjoy the Christmas market at Centro Oberhausen. From mid-November until Christmas, the leisure and shopping centre Centro Oberhausen is transformed into an atmospheric Christmas wonderland. Three Christmas markets open at the same time and welcome visitors with mulled wine, arts and crafts, festive stalls and many attractions. Whether it is the Bergweihnachtsmarkt, Santa’s Village or the Wichtelmarkt, there is something for everyone. Thanks to the different themed worlds, every taste is catered for – from a classic Christmas market to a lively alpine hut atmosphere. Santa’s Village welcomes visitors with more than 50 colourful Christmas huts.
The Wichtelmarkt is just the right place for fairy-tale fans and families with young children. In addition to a talking fairy-tale tree, little gnome figures and other mythical creatures, rides on the Wichtelbahn and the colourful Wichtel carousel make children’s hearts beat faster. The Bergweihnachtsmarkt at Centro Oberhausen stands for cosy alpine hut charm and après-ski atmosphere.
